The church

The village church Ruttersdorf is located in the municipality of Ruttersdorf in the Saale-Holzland district in Thuringia . It belongs to the parish in Stadtroda Kirchenkreis Eisenberg of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

location

The church is centrally located on Dorfstrasse near Landesstrasse 2315, which passes to the north .

history

In 1636, during the Thirty Years' War , the church was built on the foundations of a previous church. In 1768 the sacristy was added to its east side. This year can be read in the weather vane of the church tower . In the same year the free-standing pulpit altar was set up in the choir . The phrase "Faith, Love, Hope" is attached to the sound cover .

Nave

In the nave a tripartite is loft built. The organ, created in 1873 by the Poppe brothers from Roda, stands on the west gallery .

tower

The bells hang in the octagonal slated tower with a tail dome . The bells were melted down during the First World War . In 1927 the parish received three bells again, of which only the middle one was spared in World War II . In 1960 the peal was complete again.
