Architecture and history

In 1541 the Reformation was introduced in Sieversdorf . At that time the existing church was a subsidiary of the church in Dreetz . In 1558 Sieversdorf became the mother church and received its own pastor for the first time. In 1817 the churches of Friedrichsdorf and Hohenofen became daughter churches of the Sieversdorf church.

The previous building was destroyed in 1638 and then rebuilt in half-timbered construction. Today's large plastered hall church was built around 1747/48. To the west of the nave is a church tower with a square floor plan. The tower, initially built in wood, was renewed in 1820 with a massive construction and is crowned by a slipped onion dome. The baroque structure of the building was reduced in the course of restorations. Along the long sides of the ship there are two rows of arched windows, with the windows in the lower row only being low. There is also an arched door on all four sides of the church.

The interior is uniform and is considered impressive. There are circumferential two-storey galleries , the corners of which are rounded. The posts of the gallery go up to the ceiling. In 1774 it was painted in oak wood. On the east side there is a bulbous pulpit that is included in the lower gallery. The same applies to the located on the west side, in trapezoidal shape early organ loft . The organ prospectus is designed in the Rococo style and dates from 1752. The organ was built in 1913 by the Berlin workshop of the Dinse brothers .

In the church there are two wooden epitaphs for Johann Eberhard Stifft, who died in 1747, and his wife, Catharina Elisabeth Stifft, who died in 1765. There are a total of three bells in the church tower. A bronze bell from 1737 and two iron ones from 1691 and 1861, one of which is used as a clock bell.

There is a war memorial in front of the west side of the church .
