history

The church is of Romanesque origin and consists of a nave , choir and apse .

Walls and wood determine the interior . The larger-than-life Christ body from the former triumphal arch dominates the altar and church interior. The altar is made of sandstone blocks and provided with a wooden plate. The chalice-shaped pulpit is adorned with vine ornaments. A tombstone of a pastor's wife from the 17th century was the keystone of a crypt in front of the altar. During the renovation in 1947, the stone came to its present location.

The stained glass window on the left side of the choir shows pictures from the life of Jesus and scenes from World War II .

The organ is a work of the Altenburg organ builder Poppe from the year 1850. The ringing originally had three bells . The smallest bell was melted down for war purposes in 1917. The other two bells each have an inscription.

The pierced tower button is a nesting place for tits. Certificates were last enclosed with the tower button during the repair work before the Second World War.

The attic of the house of God serves as a habitat for bats .
