The Protestant village church Sternhagen is a Gothic hall church in the district of Sternhagen in the municipality of Nordwestuckermark in the Uckermark district in Brandenburg . It belongs to the Lindenhagen parish in the Reformed Church District in the Uckermark of the Evangelical Church in Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Upper Lusatia and can be viewed after registration.

History and architecture

The church is a rectangular hall church made of field stone with a sacristy on the north side from the second half of the 13th century. The church has a boarded-up square roof tower with a curved dome from 1707. It was extensively restored in the years 1997-2001 on the roof, doors and facade with the support of the German Foundation for Monument Protection . A two-tiered pointed arch portal is built into the western front, with two high windows on the side and a circular screen in the gable. The ship windows and the staggered three-window group of the east wall with the circular screen above have been preserved in their original form.

Furnishing

The interior is closed by a beamed ceiling from 1713. The main piece of equipment is a wooden pulpit altar with elaborate acanthus decorations and carved altar cabinets from 1729. To the side of the pulpit cage with angels' heads and volutes are arranged two Corinthian columns, which carry the richly carved entablature and the openwork segmented arched gable crowned by glory rays with a representation of the Trinity . A wrought-iron hourglass from 1741 is attached to the pulpit . The former patronage of those von Arnim with coat of arms held by angels is attached to the south side; the west gallery is equipped with sayings on the parapet fields and, like the parish and community chairs, dates from the first half of the 18th century. Century. The wooden baptismal angel from 1714/15 was created in the workshop of Johann Christian Beuteler. A tin and a pair of candlesticks date from the 18th century. A bell was probably cast in the 16th century.

organ

The organ is a work by Joachim Wagner from 1736 with nine stops on a manual and pedal . It was created for the church in Gramzow , where a larger organ was built in 1857. The Wagner organ was moved to Sternhagen by Carl Ludwig Gesell . A restoration was carried out by Alexander Schuke in 2006–2009 . The disposition is:
