The Protestant village church Thränitz is in the district Thränitz of the independent city of Gera in Thuringia .
history
From 1719 to 1722 the Romanesque single-nave church was expanded in baroque style. A single-storey, octagonal tower with a curved dome is attached to the square choir . Inside, since a redesign and renovation in 1922, there are galleries on the north and south sides , a painted beam ceiling and a classical pulpit altar . The pulpit is on the south side of the triumphal arch . In the gallery there is a restored organ from 1850.
In 2000 the nave was re-roofed and the interior was given a new color. In 2001 the outside was plastered and the exposed brickwork was restored.
