Dorothea Katharina von Pfalz-Birkenfeld-Bischweiler (born July 3, 1634 in Bischweiler ; † December 7, 1715 in Neunkirchen ) was a Countess Palatine of Birkenfeld-Bischweiler and by marriage Countess of Nassau-Ottweiler .

Life

Dorothea Katharina was a daughter of Count Palatine Christian I von Birkenfeld-Bischweiler (1598–1654) from his first marriage to Magdalena Katharina (1607–1648), daughter of Duke and Count Palatine Johann II von Zweibrücken .

She married in 1649 in Bischweiler Count Johann Ludwig von Nassau-Ottweiler (1625–1690), the founder of the Nassau-Ottweiler line.

After the death of her husband, Dorothea Katharina lived on her widow's residence at Neunkirchen Castle near Ottweiler and was involved in charitable work. She supported the construction and maintenance of a hospital in Ottweiler with considerable financial resources.
