Luise Sophie von Hanau

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Countess Luise Sophie von Hanau-Lichtenberg (born April 11, 1662 in Bischofsheim am Hohen Steg ; † April 9, 1751 in Ottweiler ) was a daughter of Count Johann Reinhard II (* 1628; † 1666) and Countess Palatine Anna Magdalena von Pfalz -Bischweiler (* 1640; † 1693).

On September 27, 1697 she married Count Friedrich Ludwig von Nassau-Ottweiler (born November 13, 1651 - † May 25, 1728). It was his second marriage. Luise Sophie and Friedrich Ludwig's marriage remained childless because their son was born dead in 1698 . With the death of Friedrich Ludwig, the Nassau-Ottweiler line ended, her property could not go to one of his eight daughters from the previous marriage for inheritance reasons, and instead passed to the Nassau-Usingen line . Nevertheless, the widow took her widow's seat in Ottweiler , where Luise, her sister-in-law, also lived. Ottweiler, seat of the Counts of Nassau-Ottweiler since 1640, a branch of the House of Nassau, became the mere rule of Ottweiler in 1728 .
