Dorothea Mommsen

Dorothea Mommsen (born January 3, 1926 in Berlin ; † January 1, 2017 ) was a German actress .

life and work

Mommsen attended Marlise Ludwig's private drama school in Berlin. In 1950 she made her debut in the Theater of Friendship . Engagements in Borna , Güstrow and Frankfurt (Oder) followed . From 1962 to 1976 she worked at the Meininger Theater . She later worked as a freelance artist and played several supporting roles in DEFA and DFF productions .

After the political change in 1989, she trained as a naturopath and opened her own practice in Teltow . Her husband was the actor Paul Jasper (1921-2004). Mommsen died shortly before her 91st birthday.
