action

Ingmar and Petra Lesser attend the funeral of the previous owner of their farm. At the funeral feast there is a scuffle. At the end of the day, a guest discovers that his valuable gold watch is missing. He bumped into Ingmar Lesser in the restaurant during the tussle and therefore believes that he is the thief. Captain Reger, who was also present at the funeral and funeral feast, checks Ingmar, who has returned to his property with Petra. Ingmar denies a theft and lets the investigators look into the house. Reger knocks into a cavity behind a wall panel. After opening the panel, a warehouse appears. In addition to electrical appliances, food from the delicacy is also stacked here . The stolen property comes from a series of burglaries that is already keeping the investigators in Berlin in suspense. Raids were carried out throughout the republic, but neither the perpetrators nor the traces of the crime could be ascertained. Ingmar and Petra are taken for questioning, but released for lack of evidence.

Upon closer inspection, it turns out that Ingmar works as a fitter in a switchgear factory and always installed alarm systems in the shops that were later broken into. The investigators search the property again and finally find a box of stolen watches. Ingmar is taken into custody, but protests his innocence. He does not reveal the principle of the alarm systems, as he is bound by operational confidentiality, from which his company only releases him after a while. Ingmar reports that the alarm systems are put out of action by a high-pitched sound, like a dog whistle. By chance he found out that a certain tone on his harmonica also deactivates the alarm system. He reported this to his superior, but was not taken seriously. He claims no one knew about the fact.

Petra is desperate because Ingmar has been arrested. She went to her mother Hanna and her brother Enno, who never got on well with Ingmar. Petra doesn't know that her brother was imprisoned for a while. Her mother kept it from her in order to enable Enno to start over. However, after his stay in prison, Enno made contact with fellow inmate John Schmitt, with whom he now earns money as an alleged renovator. In reality, he found out about Ingmar's discovery by chance: Ingmar told Petra about the harmonica trick in his parents' kitchen and Enno was able to overhear their conversation through a secret connection. Since then, he and his accomplice have been robbing the stores that Ingmar had previously secured. Now they know about Petra that the police are on their heels. They sink a transporter that is identical to the one they use for their thief tours. The transporter is found and the investigators become suspicious. They are reviewing other apartments that have been renovated by the duo, whose identity they do not yet know. Stolen goods can always be found behind panels. Finally, the investigators learn that Petra knew about the harmonica trick. Reger, in turn, recognizes the audio connection to the kitchen during an examination of Enno's room. He learns from Hanna that Enno and Ingmar did not get along well and that Enno had been in prison for a while. As a mother, she cannot and will not testify against him. Petra, on the other hand, suspects that her family is hiding something from her and is so desperate about it that she threatens her mother with suicide. Ingmar is released based on the new findings. Hanna is shocked by her daughter's desperation and confronts Enno, who, however, reacts coldly. John Schmitt, on the other hand, wants to get out, but Enno doesn't let him and beats him up. John now faces the police, who in turn arrest Enno - Hanna had found his pistol in the attic and kept him in check with it until the investigators arrived.

Unfortunately, the irony was missing here, ”stated the criticism.
