Rose Becker (* 1930  ? In Ramsin ) is a German actress .

Life

Rose Becker was born in Ramsin . Her parents conveyed her interest in culture, her mother led a dance group and sang in church, and her father provided music for dance events. At the age of four, Rose was on stage for the first time in a Christmas fairy tale. At the age of eight she moved with her parents to nearby Wolfen , soon after practicing fairy tales with her new friends and watching many films. This increased her desire to become an actress one day.

In the last year of the Second World War she graduated from secondary school , then went to high school , where she graduated from high school in 1948 , not without continuing to play in an amateur play group during her school days. After graduating from high school, she worked in the Wolfen film factory , where she became a member of a theater group led by the Dessau theater actor Herbert Albes . Because he encouraged her, she now went to Dessau once a week to take acting lessons from Herbert Albes, where she passed her first aptitude and intermediate exams. With this experience, she applied to the DEFA junior studio in 1950 , was accepted and already received her first small role in the DEFA film Sour Weeks, Happy Holidays during her training . When the junior studio was closed, she was able to continue her studies at the State Drama School in Berlin .

In 1956 Rose Becker began an apprenticeship at the newly founded fashion institute in Berlin and from then on worked as a mannequin. At the same time, she continued to take private acting lessons in order to take her final drama examination in front of the stage cooperative in West Berlin in 1957 . She could not accept an engagement at the West Berlin Schillertheater because of her pregnancy and later the way to the Schiller Theater was no longer possible because of the building of the wall . In addition, she found that theater and family were too much for her and in the future she only worked as a freelancer in order to be able to take care of the family more. In addition to this, there was now time for dubbing, small roles at DEFA and television as well as numerous musical and literary programs.

She started teaching in the mid-1960s when she was a lecturer in the Speech Studies department at the University of Education , during which she also looked after amateur ensembles. That didn't change when she switched to the Institute for Teacher Training in Potsdam in 1970 as a speech teacher . From 1976 to 1984 she worked as a speech teacher and acting lecturer at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin . During this time she repeatedly received roles in DEFA and television films, for example from 1977 to 1979 the role of Mrs. Collins in the school television series English for You .

After the fall of the Berlin Wall, Rose Becker had to cut back on her job to take care of her husband. It was not until 1993 that she tried to get tasks on television again and her application was successful, so in 2000 she got the role of Thea Brinkmann in the television series Gute Zeiten, Bad Zeiten . Since 2006 she has also been working for a senior model agency.

Rose Becker lives in Potsdam .
