The East Timorese Ministry of Health ( tetum Ministériu Saúde ; Portuguese Ministério da Saúde ; short: MS) is the East Timorese government agency for health policy in the country. Management is the responsibility of the state's health minister . Since the position is currently vacant , the office is held by Vice Minister Bonifácio dos Reis . The Ministry of Health is based in the Palácio das Cinzas in Suco Caicoli on Rua Palácio das Cinzas

The Ministry of Health is the central government agency responsible for designing, implementing, coordinating and evaluating the health and pharmaceutical activities policy established and approved by the Council of Ministers. The Minister of Health is responsible for proposing policy measures and developing the regulatory projects necessary for the areas he oversees:

Ensure access to health care for all citizens, coordinate activities related to epidemiological control, conduct health control of products affecting human health, promote education of health professionals, contribute to the success of humanitarian aid, promote peace, security and socio-economic development through mechanisms of coordination and cooperation with other government agencies in charge of related areas.

The hospitals of the National Health Service and the Autonomous Medicines and Medical Devices Service of the Public Institute (Serviçio Autónomo de Medicamentos e Equipamentos de Saúde SAMES) are under the supervision of the Minister of Health.
