Bonifácio dos Reis (2019)

Bonifácio dos Reis ( battle name : Maukoli ) is an East Timorese politician. He is a member of the Partidu Libertasaun Popular (PLP).

For several years he was director of the Ermera Health Service . On June 22, 2018, Reis was sworn in as Deputy Minister of Health. Since no health minister could be appointed due to the blockade of President Francisco Guterres , the first deputy minister Élia António de Araújo dos Reis Amaral took over the management of the health ministry . When she was sacked by Prime Minister Taur Matan Ruak on April 3, 2020 , Reis took over the leadership until Odete Maria Belo was sworn in as the new Minister of Health on May 29.
