Doug Kyle
Doug Kyle (actually Douglas Haig Kyle; born July 22, 1932 in Toronto ) is a retired Canadian long-distance runner .
At the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Vancouver in 1954 , he did not finish over three miles and six miles. In 1956 he retired at the Olympic Games in Melbourne over 5000 m in the run and came over 10,000 m on the 23rd place.
In 1959 he won silver over 10,000 m and bronze over 5000 m at the Pan American Games in Chicago . At the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome, he did not get past the preliminary round over 5000 m and finished 24th over 10,000 m .
In 1963 he was fourth over 5000 m and fifth over 10,000 m at the Pan American Games in São Paulo .
Four times he was Canadian champion over 10,000 m or six miles (1956, 1957, 1959, 1960), three times over 5000 m or three miles (1957-1959) and in cross country (1957, 1961, 1964) and once in the marathon (1963). In 1957 he was US champion over six miles.
