Dr. Acula was originally founded by the band members in 2005 just for fun. They released the EP Chillogy without a label the following year. After a new line-up was found, Dr. Acula released her next studio album called The Social Event of the Century in 2010. This was also released on Uprising Records. It received better reviews than Below Me , although it was said that its sound wasn't very different from its predecessor.
