history
The company was founded in 1944 by Karl-Heinz Scheller. From 2006, the Kalina International Group , Lausanne ( Switzerland ), owned over 75 percent of Dr. Scheller Cosmetics AG involved.
The company was best known for its cosmetics series, which was sold under the brand name Manhattan . In addition, the company also sold various dental care products in drugstores , in particular toothpaste, under the durodont brand . The Dr. Scheller Cosmetics AG sold its products, partly through subsidiaries , and increasingly as private labels for several German food discounters . For example, the Friscodent toothpaste available from Aldi Süd and the nett-o-dent toothpaste available from Netto came from Scheller.
The company was a stock corporation whose listing ended on March 2, 2010 as a result of a squeeze-out process.
Reinhold Schlensok has been the sole member of the company's management board since Ulrich Scheller left the company on January 1, 2007; the Supervisory Board consisted of three members.
The company was dissolved on June 30, 2011 . The brands were sold to Coty Inc. and BCG Cosmetics GmbH, the production to Weckerle Cosmetics Eislingen GmbH.
