The Dragon Glacier ( English ; Polish Lodowiec Smoka ' Dragon Glacier ' ) is a glacier on King George Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It flows north from Kraków Dome past Wawel Hill to Admiralty Bay .
Polish scientists named it in 1980. It is named after the legendary "Dragon of Krakow", which in the founding myth of the city of Krakow from the Vandals -Herzog Krak killed monster.
