Jens Wittek

Jens Wittek (* 19th March 1961 ) is a former German cyclist and DDR -Master in cycling .

Athletic career

Wittek was mainly active as a train driver. In 1984 he was GDR champion with his club mate Axel Grosser in two-man team driving . In 1983 both had already become vice-champions in two-man team driving. Wittek won another title on the street. He won the GDR championship in 1984 in the team time trial with his teammates Frank Herzog , Jan Schur and Axel Grosser. Wittek started for the SC DHfk Leipzig . In 1984 he took part in the GDR tour and took 58th place in the overall ranking. After that he almost only competed in track races. He ended his career as a competitive athlete in 1987 and then started for BSG Motor Rostock.
