Erich Mane (* 1934 ) is a former German cyclist and DDR -Master in cycling .

Athletic career

Mähne was originally a specialist in short-distance races on the track, but also started in other disciplines. Mähne started for the BSG Rotation Leipzig-Ost (later SC Rotation Leipzig ). In the youth class he was in 1951 Saxony champion on the track in the sprint and in the single pursuit . He was GDR champion in the tandem race with his partner Horst Pötsch. He was able to win the championship title again with Klaus Freund in 1958 and 1959. In this discipline he was second with Hans Zimoch in 1956 and third in 1955, and again third in 1957 with Klaus Freund. Erich Mähne was GDR champion in team pursuit in 1958 with his teammates Egon Adler , Göhle and Schröder. He was runner-up with his team in 1953 and 1955, and in 1956 and 1957 he took 3rd place in the championship with his team. Mähne was also able to win the championship title in the two-man team , which was achieved in 1953 with Günter Fleck. From the traditional track races in the Werner-Seelenbinder-Halle in Berlin , he was able to win the 1001 round (which were held twice that year) with Gustav-Adolf Schur and Georg Stoltze in 1957 .
