Nemčiňany (German Nemtschin , Hungarian Nemcsény ) is a municipality in the west of Slovakia with 671 inhabitants (December 31, 2019) that the circle Okres Zlaté Moravce , part of Nitriansky kraj heard.
geography
The municipality is located in the northern part of the Pohronská pahorkatina hills in the valley of the Rohožnícky potok . The center of the village is at an altitude of 212 m nm and is 10 kilometers from Zlaté Moravce .
In addition to the main town, the municipality also includes the cadastral municipality Rohožnica (first mentioned in 1283, incorporated in 1959).
Neighboring municipalities are Veľké Vozokany in the north, Volkovce in the northeast, Kozárovce in the east, Malé Kozmálovce and Nový Tekov in the southeast, Kalná nad Hronom (cadastral municipality Mochovce ) in the south and Malé Vozokany in the west.
history
Nemčiňany was first mentioned in writing in 1258 as Nempchen or Nempchin and was owned by members of the lower nobility. In 1493 the abbey of Hronský Beňadik acquired part of the property, followed later by the diocese of Neutra (1521), the Gran Chapter (1559), the Dobraviczky family (1534), Dóczy family (1563), then the Topoľčianky domain and finally the Kosztolányi family in the 17th century. In 1536 there were eight porta in the village, in 1601 there were 77 houses. In 1720, 19 taxpayers lived in Nemčiňany, in 1828 there were 64 houses and 416 inhabitants who were employed as farmers.
Until 1918, the place in Bars County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, Nemčiňany had 695 inhabitants, 643 of whom were Slovaks and four Czechs . 48 residents gave no information on ethnicity .
592 residents committed themselves to the Roman Catholic Church, four residents each to the Jehovah's Witnesses and to the Evangelical Church AB, two residents to the Evangelical Methodist Church and one resident each to the Greek Catholic Church and the Czechoslovak Hussite Church; one resident professed a different denomination. 34 residents were without a denomination and the denomination of 56 residents was not determined.
