Čaradice (until 1927 Slovak and "Čaradce"; German Tharaditz , Hungarian Csárad ) is a municipality in the west of Slovakia with 490 inhabitants (December 31, 2019) that the circle Okres Zlaté Moravce of, part kraj Nitriansky heard and in the traditional Tekov countryside .
geography
The village is located at the transition from the Pohronská pahorkatina to the Pohronský Inovec mountains to the north . The Čaradický potok flows through the place in the catchment area of the Hron . The center of the village is at an altitude of 240 m nm and is 10 kilometers from Zlaté Moravce .
Neighboring communities are Obyce in the north, Tekovské Nemce in the east, Kozárovce in the south, Volkovce in the west and Zlaté Moravce and Žitavany in the north-west.
history
Čaradice was first mentioned in writing as Charat in 1209 when it belonged to the Hronský Beňadik Abbey . In 1715, 18 taxpayers lived in the village, plus there was a mill and vineyards. In 1828 there were 79 houses and 557 inhabitants, most of whom were employed as farmers.
Until 1918, the place in Bars County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia.

According to the 2011 census, there were 511 residents in Čaradice, including 493 Slovaks , eight Magyars and one Bulgarian , one German , one Jew and one Russian . Six residents did not provide any information about their ethnicity .
439 residents committed themselves to the Roman Catholic Church, three residents to the Evangelical Church AB, two residents to the Greek Catholic Church and one resident each to the Apostolic Church, the Jewish community and the Orthodox Church; ten residents indicated a different denomination. 22 residents had no denomination and the denomination of 30 residents was not determined.

The R1 expressway between Trnava and Banská Bystrica runs near the village , with the Čaradice exit (80). The next rail connection is in Hronský Beňadik.
