Čierne Kľačany (German Klatschan , Hungarian Feketekelecsény ) is a municipality in western Slovakia with 1,174 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019).
General
It is located in the Danube hill country on both sides of the Širočina brook near the Pohronský Inovec mountain range , about 5 km from Zlaté Moravce and 32 km from Nitra .
Neighboring municipalities are Zlaté Moravce in the west and north, Volkovce in the east and Veľké Vozokany in the south.
The place was first mentioned in writing in 1209 as villa Chelecen .
A 7,000 year old settlement was discovered during the construction of the R1 expressway . A burial site with more than 200 graves from the 11th century and an ivory pyxis dating from the 5th century were discovered in earlier years .

According to the 2011 census, there were 1084 inhabitants in Čierne Kľačany, of which 1057 were Slovaks, four Magyars and one Russian and one Czech. 21 residents gave no information in this regard. 1,027 residents professed to the Roman Catholic Church, two residents to the Greek Catholic Church and one resident each to the Evangelical Methodist Church and the Orthodox Church. 29 residents were without a denomination and the denomination was not determined for 24 residents.
