The tridentate saxifrage ( Saxifraga depressa ) is a species in the genus saxifrage ( Saxifraga ) in the family Saxifragaceae (Saxifragaceae). It is closely related to the Mannsschild saxifrage ( Saxifraga androsacea ).

The three-toothed saxifrage is a perennial plant that reaches heights of 5 to 10 centimeters. It grows loose grass. The rosette leaves are up to 30 millimeters long, 6 to 10 millimeters wide, thick and wedge-shaped. They are usually deeply three-toothed in front, the middle tooth is longer. On the edge and on the surfaces the rosette leaves and the 0 to 2 stem and bracts are hairy short-glandular . The stem is erect, strong, glandular and has up to 10 flowers. The petals are 4 to 5 millimeters long, white, three-veined, obovate and about twice as long as the calyx tips. The sepals are obtuse ovate.

Flowering time is from June to August.

Occurrence

The three-toothed saxifrage is endemic to the western Dolomites . It grows in the alpine zone in shady locations on damp rubble, mostly on porphyry , at altitudes of 2000 to 2850 meters. He is a character species of the Saxifragetum depressae (Association Androsacion alpinae).
