The Dresdner Trompeten Consort is a music ensemble consisting of the trumpeters Mathias Schmutzler, Tobias Willner, Volker Stegmann, Gerd Graner, Sven Barnkoth, all members of the Saxon State Orchestra Dresden , and Frank Hebenstreit, as well as the timpani of the Staatskapelle Thomas Käppler and Christian Langer.

history

In 2003 Mathias Schmutzler founded the ensemble with the aim of reviving and continuing the courtly Saxon trumpet and timpani art. Concerts are mainly played in churches and castles as well as on festive occasions such as the Dresden Semper Opera Ball . Guest soloists such as Ludwig Güttler and Allen Vizzutti enrich the concerts as well as the interplay with Kreuz organist Holger Gehring .

The musicians of the Dresden Trompeten Consort are also members of various chamber music ensembles, such as the brass ensemble Ludwig Güttler , the Virtuosi Saxoniae , Semper Brass Dresden, Philharmonic Brass Dresden, the Dresdner Kapellsolisten and others. a. and have z. T. teaches at the Dresden and Leipzig music academies . CD, radio and television productions complement their activities.
