history
The Querstand label is part of the Kamprad publishing group and was founded in 1994 by Klaus-Jürgen Kamprad in Altenburg . The focus of the publications is on organ music , but also on symphonic and chamber music . DVDs have also been released since 2001.
Publications
The label has already launched over 500 productions, including the 8-CD box Die Orgeln by Gottfried Silbermann and a series of 10 CDs with works by Johann Ludwig Krebs . Further recordings were made with the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra and the MDR Symphony Orchestra . Many well-known performers, such as Kurt Masur , Bernard Haitink , Fabio Luisi , Georg Christoph Biller , Herbert Blomstedt , Ewald Kooiman , Howard Arman , Martin Haselböck and Iveta Apkalna as well as the Calmus Ensemble , the Ensemble Sortisatio and the Ensemble Alte Musik Dresden have published on Querstand.
Awards
For the recording of the Passion Oratorio The Death of Jesus by Carl Heinrich Graun with the MDR Radio Choir and the MDR Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Howard Arman, the label received the 2005 Echo Klassik Music Prize . Gottfried Silbermann's organs were awarded the German Record Critics' Prize. In 2006 Ludwig van Beethoven's Mass in C major under Fabio Luisi was awarded the Supersonic Award ( Pizzicato ).
In 2013 Querstand received the International Classical Music Award (ICMA) in the “Best Collection” category and the “Recording of the Year” award for the “ Anton Bruckner : Symphonies No. 1 - 9” CD box with the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra under the baton by Herbert Blomstedt . The world's first recording of Marie Jaëll's entire piano work by Cora Irsen on five CDs was honored with the ECHO Klassik Award in 2017.
