Andrew "Drew" Gelinas is an American biathlete .

Drew Gelinas attended Saint Michael's College in Burlington from 1989 to 1993 . He lives in Surry and is serving in the rank of Sergeant 1st Class in the Utah National Guard . From 2006 to 2008 he worked as a technician for the US ski team and mainly for the Nordic Combined , in 2009/10 as a satellite operator for the 19th Special Forces of the US Army . In 2011 he became one of two representatives for Atomic in Northeast New England .

Gelinas was part of his university's cross-country skiing team during his studies. He later became a member of the US National Guard. At the North American Championships in Summer Biathlon 2009 in Jericho , Gelinas was 18th in both the sprint and the pursuit. In September of that year, he took part in the 2009 Biathlon South American Championships in Chile with several other National Guard biathletes . He and Douglas Bernard and Shawn Blanke did not attract attention because of their sporting achievements, but because they were significantly involved in the rescue work after a helicopter crash.
