The Driftwood River is a 110 km long river in the center of the Canadian province of British Columbia .
River course
The Driftwood River has its headwaters on the western flank of Kotsine Mountain on the Nechako Plateau . It initially flows 25 km north. It then turns east 3 miles south of Bear Lake . The remaining 70 km the Driftwood River flows southeast. The Driftwood River flows around the Driftwood Range . From the left the Kastberg Creek flows into the right, the Kotsine River and 18.5 km above the mouth of the Lion Creek from the left into the Driftwood River. This eventually reaches the northern end of Takla Lake . The Driftwood River forms loops and oxbow lakes in the lower reaches .
Hydrology
The catchment area of the Driftwood River measures around 1700 km². The highest monthly runoffs usually occur during the snowmelt in May and June.
