Location of the Drottninghög district in Helsingborg.

Drottninghög is a district in the northeast of the Swedish city of Helsingborg . It is located in the city district of the same name, with around 2,710 inhabitants (as of 2005) .

The district was built between 1966 and 1969 as part of the so-called million dollar program , a housing construction program of the Swedish government. Around half of the residents were born abroad or have foreign parents.

The district got its name from a burial mound that lay here until it was leveled in 1964.

The construction work during the construction of the district was characteristic of the production method "production-adapted project planning", in which the ideas and visions of the architects had to take second place to those of the builders and contractors who wanted an effective and rational implementation.
