The Drug Monastery ( Tib .: 'brug dgon pa "Thunder Monastery") is a monastery of the Drugpa Kagyu tradition of Tibetan Buddhism .

It has 1205 of tsangpa gyare ( gtsang pa rgya ras ye shes rdo RJE ; 1161 - 1211 ), 1 Gyalwang Drukpa ( rgyal dbang 'brug pa ), the lower reaches of Lhasa River in Kyime ( sKyid smad established).

When the foundation stone was laid, three claps of thunder rang out, which is why the monastery was named "Donnerkloster". It is considered to be the ancestral monastery of the Drugpa Kagyu tradition, which got its name from him.
