The school building Drusenbergstrasse 33 is located in Ehrenfeld , a district of Bochum in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The school building dates from 1914, is made of brick in the expressionist style and was designed for 600 children. Its architect was the city architect Karl Elkart (1880–1959). The name probably goes back to the Drusenberg colliery and the street named after it. In World War II the French were here forced laborers housed. The hallway, stairwell and the gym are now under monument protection .

The building is used by the Drusenbergschule primary school and, since 1992, by the municipal special needs school, the Brothers Grimm School . An open all-day school has existed as a joint project between the two schools housed in the building since the 2007/2008 school year . The schools have their own school garden . To the east is the Rechener Park .
