The Jabal az-Zanna peninsula ( Arabic جبل الظنة, DMG Ǧabal aẓ-Ẓanna , engl. Jebel Dhana ) is located in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi , approx. 270 km west of the city of Abu Dhabi. The Dhafra Beach Hotel, built in the 1970s , is located on it in the east , 20 km to the north of the Ruwais settlement complex , and is currently being expanded to become the Jebel Dhanna Resort in order to become a point of attraction for tourists. The hotel also offers passes for visiting the private island Sir Bani Yas of the late head of state Zayid bin Sultan Al Nahyan . In the western part of Jabal az-Zanna was in 2004 , the 1500 MW - Combined Cycle Power Plant "Shuweihat S1" with seawater desalination completed. In 2011 the 1500 MW combined cycle power plant "Shuweihat S2" with seawater desalination was completed. The combined cycle power plant "Shuweihat S3" should be completed in 2014.

In the immediate vicinity is the small ferry port Dalma , with a ferry connection to the volcanic island of Delma , which is also used militarily (by allies such as the US Army) to load vehicles and goods. On a hill (115 m high) near the port there is a military listening device . Furthermore, in the north of Jabal az-Zanna there is an approx. 2.4 km long, militarily guarded runway for aircraft . In the center there are tanks for water and fuel surrounded by hills . In addition, shrubs are grown on Jabal az-Zanna .
