Dschiginka ( Russian Джигинка ; formerly German Michaelsfeld , also Michelsfeld ) is a village in Russia . It belongs to the urban district of the spa town of Anapa in the Krasnodar region and has almost 4400 inhabitants.

history

Michaelsfeld was founded in 1868 by the German colonist under the leadership of Johann Schelske on the river Dschiga. Colonists acquired a total of 4473 Dessjatinen (4886.75 hectares) of land from Michail Babitsch . The colonists came from German mother colonies in Bessarabia and Tauria . Michaelsfeld was an Evangelical Lutheran village. In 1893 the village was officially renamed Djiginskoye . The village church was built in 1898 and converted into a club during the Soviet era . In 1941 all Germans were deported from the town.
