Juma Durdy Karayev

Dschuma Durdy Karajew ( Russian Джума Дурды Караев , Turkmen Jumadurdy Garaýew ; * December 28, 1909 July / January 10,  1910 greg. In Bairam-Ali , Russian Empire ; † May 4, 1960 in Ashchabad , Turkmen Soviet Socialist Republic. ) Was a Soviet - Turkmen politician of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU), who was First Secretary of the Communist Party of the Turkmen SSR from 1958 to 1960 .

Life

Dschuma Durdy Karajew graduated from the Bajram-Ali agricultural school between 1926 and 1933 and was then head of the Bajram-Ali boarding school from 1933 to 1935 and then teacher and deputy director of the local training center between 1935 and 1937. After working as an agronomist in a collective farm , he was director of a machine-tractor station (MTS) between 1938 and 1941 . During this time he became a member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU) in 1939 and served as the CP's first secretary in the Bajram-Ali district between 1941 and 1942. He was then from 1942 to December 1943 Deputy People's Commissar for State Control of the Turkmen Soviet Socialist Republic and was then first secretary from December 1943 and then first secretary of the Kerki Oblast Party Committee until January 1943 . He then held the post of Minister of Agriculture of the Turkmen SSR from 1947 to 1950. For his services to the development of agriculture in 1946 and implementation of the State Plan for Agricultural Products, he was awarded the Order of the Red Labor Banner on April 11, 1947 . In addition, he was a deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR between 1950 and 1960 .

After Karajew had graduated from the party college of the CPSU between 1950 and 1952 , he was first secretary of the Tashau Oblast Party Committee from 1952 to January 1958 after his return . On January 14, 1958, he replaced Balysch Owesow as chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Turkmen SSR and held this post until June 18, 1959, whereupon Balysch Owesow succeeded him. In this office he also held the post of Foreign Minister of the Turkmen SSR as the successor to Balysch Owesow and was also replaced by Owesow here. On January 20, 1958 he became a member of the Presidium of the Central Committee (ZK) of the Communist Party of the Turkmen SSR and was a member of this body until his death on May 4, 1960.

Most recently, Dschuma Durdy Karajew resolved by the VI. Plenary session of the Central Committee on December 14, 1958 Sukhan Babayev resigns as First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Turkmen SSR. He held this position until his death on May 4, 1960, whereupon Balysch Owesow also succeeded him this time. He was also awarded the Order of Lenin and the Badge of Honor of the Soviet Union twice.
