NFL

At the NFL Draft 2008 he was selected in the 1st round by the Houston Texans and was able to establish himself in this team immediately. In his rookie season he played all 16 games as a starter . In ten years he appeared for the Texans 133 times and was called up to the Pro Bowl three times .

Brown was suspended for four games in 2010 for violating anti- doping guidelines. Also in 2015 he tested positive and banned for ten games. However, this ban was lifted because contaminated Mexican meat was the cause of the positive test.

He only played again on the eighth game day against the Seattle Seahawks . On October 30, 2017, the Texans traded Brown for the Seahawks. There he performed very well in the remaining games despite a sprained ankle. He was elected to the NFC roster for the Pro Bowl after the season. Despite a contract term until after the 2018 season , Brown received a contract extension on July 29, 2018. His new contract runs for three years and is valued at $ 36.5 million.
In 2019, he was only able to play 12 games due to an injury.
