The Dublin City University ( Irish Ollscoil Chathair Bhaile Átha Cliath ), one of the four universities of Dublin, located in the district Glasnevin in the north of the Irish capital Dublin . The modern campus is characteristic of the university, but also the comparatively high number of research projects and the young age.

There are currently around 12,000 students studying at the university and 440 employees.

The Dublin City University Business School is part of the university network International Partnership of Business Schools and offers double degree courses with, among others, the Reutlingen University .

history

Dublin City University was founded in 1975 as the National Institute for Higher Education ; the first students enrolled in 1980. Finally, in 1989, Dublin City University was officially promoted to the rank of university. The first rector was Danny O'Hare , who chaired the university until 1999. The third (and current) President is Brian MacCraith .
