The Technological University Dublin ( TU Dublin , English Technological University Dublin , Irish Ollscoil Teicneolaíochta Bhaile Atha Cliath ) is a state technical university in the middle of the Irish capital Dublin and one of the largest higher education institutions in Ireland .

Emergence

The TU Dublin was officially founded on January 1st, 2019. It emerged after seven years of collaboration between the three partner institutes Institute of Technology Blanchardstown (ITB), Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) and Institute of Technology Tallaght (ITT), which were merged into the TU. The previous Dublin Institute of Technology from 1887 was the first technical institution in Ireland. The university thus consists of three campuses:

  • City Campus (DIT)
  • Blanchardstown Campus (ITB)
  • Tallaght Campus (ITT)

The courses offered cover the fields of science, art, economics, engineering and technology.
