Duke McKenzie

Duke McKenzie (* 5. May 1963 in Surrey , England ) is a former British boxers in Superbantam- , bantam and flyweight .

Professional career

On November 23, 1982, he successfully made his professional debut. On October 5, 1988, he became the IBF flyweight world champion when he beat Rolando Bohol in round 11 by technical knockout . The following year he defended this belt against Tony DeLuca with a knockout win and lost it by unanimous decision to Dave McAuley .

At the end of June 1991 he boxed against Gaby Canizales in the bantamweight division for the WBO world title and won on points. After two successful title defenses, Rafael Del Valle took the belt from him by TKo on May 13, 1992.

In October of the following year he went to super bantamweight against Jesse Benavides for the WBO World Championship and beat him by a unanimous judge decision. He lost this title in his first title defense in June of the following year to Daniel Jiménez by majority decision.

In 1998 he ended his career.
