Duncan Kennedy (Luge Rider)

Duncan Kennedy (born December 20, 1967 in Burlington , California ) is a retired American luge athlete .

Duncan Kennedy was one of the most prominent exponents of his sport in the first half of the 1990s. In 1992 and 1994 he was second behind Markus Prock in the overall ranking of the Luge World Cup , and in 1993 he was third. In 1997 he took fourth place. In the 1991/92 season he won a World Cup race in Sigulda and in Lake Placid . At the Olympic Games in 1994 of Lillehammer Kennedy was one of the favorites, but crashed. Previously, he was in 1988 in Calgary 14th, 1992 in Albertville tenth. In 1997 he ended his career due to an injury. Today he sporadically works as a commentator for US television at luge events.

Kennedy caused an international stir in 1993 when he was injured in an attack by German skinheads in Oberhof on his colored teammate Robert Pipkins while he was helping him.
