Dark figure e. V. is an association that supports sexually abused children.

Dark figure e. V. was founded on February 4, 1993 by the Stern journalist Klaus Meyer-Andersen. The reason for this was previous research for the magazine's child molester series . The association also organizes seminars for teachers and educators and also offers information for children with which approx. 15,000 people can be reached. Also some celebrities such as B. Ann-Kathrin Kramer and Harald Krassnitzer or Steffen Henssler support the association.

Projects

In order to be able to help the child victims of sexual abuse and their trusted third parties, and to protect children in general from sexual abuse, Dunkelziffer eV offers a variety of projects:

Initial consultation

Every year, the number of unreported cases reaches e. V. over 1,000 requests for help. The caregivers of children, but increasingly also children, turn to the association's advisors by telephone or email to find help.

Victim attorneys

The association provides the victims with lawyers even before a complaint is filed and bears the costs of the initial consultation.

Child and music therapy

In Hamburg, Dunkelziffer e. V. currently 22 children and adolescents free music, children and adolescents therapy as well as a special therapy offer for boys.

Prevention

With prevention projects for schools and daycare centers, Dunkelziffer tries to make a contribution to protection against sexual abuse. Central components of the prevention work are the "Löwi Löwenstark" project for day-care centers, the "Little Lion" project for elementary schools and "Be online. Be smart.", "Make strong. Be great.", "Leise Krieger" and "Ich will say it " for secondary schools.

Internet training for detectives, prosecutors and judges

With the internet training courses, the association networks all professional groups involved in the investigation across Germany. Since 1996, more than 1500 participants have been trained to combat child pornography on the Internet.

Advanced training

Dark figure e. V. offers professional training for all professional groups who work with children and young people and supervision groups for professionals.

Contact point for boys

For boys aged 10 to 17 years, the number of unreported cases has a special counseling and therapy offer . In order to significantly improve the situation of boys, additional prevention offers are offered with a male-female team. Central topics in the counseling are building self-confidence, reducing feelings of fear and learning to set your own limits.

Dark figure e. V. finances its work exclusively from donations and the occasional allocation of fines. The association is recognized as non-profit making donations tax-deductible.
