Dusk Maiden of Amnesia ( Japanese 黄昏 乙 女 × ア ム ネ ジ ア , Tasogare Otome × Amnesia , Eng. "Twilight Girl × Amnesia") is a manga series by the duo Maybe , which was released from 2009 to 2013 in Japan. The mystery series was implemented in the form of an anime television series and translated into German, among other things.

An old legend goes around at the Seikyō private school: 60 years ago a girl is said to have been left behind in an old school building and died there. Teiichi Niiya ( 新 谷 貞 一 ), who has just started middle school, meets the beautiful Yūko Kanoe ( 庚 夕子 ) in the old school building , who soon turns out to be the ghost of the girl left behind. But she has lost her memories ( amnesia ) and therefore does not know what happened then and why she still lives as a ghost in school. Teiichi wants to clear up what happened and is now looking for her memories together with her. To do this, they have to unravel the school's seven legendary secrets. To do this, they found the club for the investigation of paranormal phenomena, in which they will soon be supported by Momoe Okonogi ( 小 此 木 も も え ) and Kirie Kanoe ( 庚 stehen 江 ).

A pilot chapter called Otomegokoro to Yū no Sora ( 乙 女 心 と 夕 の 空 , "A girl's feelings and the evening sky") was published on April 22, 2008 (6/2008 issue) in Gangan Powered magazine by Square Enix . The manga series was then published from April 22, 2009 (5/2009 issue) to November 21, 2013 (10/2013 issue) in Monthly Gangan Joker magazine . The chapters were also brought out in ten edited volumes. The volumes last sold over 50,000 times in the first few weeks after publication.

Since November 2015, Kazé Manga has been publishing the volumes in German in a translation by Josef Shanel. All ten volumes have now been published. A French translation is published by Kana , a Polish by Waneko .

On November 22, 2012 the anthology Tasogare Otome × Amnesia Anthology ( 黄昏 乙 女 × ア ム ネ ジ ア × ア ン ソ ロ ジ ー ) with short stories by various manga artists was published.

In Frontier Works on July 22, 2010, a radio drama CD was released to manga.

Anime adaptation

Studio Silver Link produced a 13-part anime television series based on the manga in 2012, directed by Shin Ōnuma and Takashi Sakamoto , with the 13th episode not being broadcast. The responsible producers were Hayato Kaneko , Masatoshi Ishizuka , Takashi Tachizaki and Tatsuhiro Nitta ; the concept of the series comes from Katsuhiko Takayama . The character design was created by Yukiko Ban and the artistic directors were Ken Naito and Naotake Ichiyanagi . Each of the episodes is about 25 minutes long.

The series was first broadcast from April 9 to June 25, 2012 after midnight (and thus on the previous television day ) on Chiba TV and Sun Television , and shortly afterwards on TV Kanagawa . Shifted by a few days, the anime was also shown on Animax , Tokyo MX and TV Aichi . The platforms Crunchyroll and iTunes Store published the series via streaming with English subtitles, the former also as a simulcast parallel to the Japanese broadcast. Publications of an English version on commercial media followed, as well as a licensing in Taiwan. Kazé Anime has been releasing the anime on DVD with German synchronization since November 2015 .

The music for the series is by Keigo Hoashi and Ryūichi Takada . For the opening credits the song Choir Jail by Konomi Suzuki was used , which was also used for two credits and within the last episode. The song of the other end credits is Calendrier ( カ ラ ン ド リ エ ), sung by Aki Okui or Yumi Hara in the eleventh episode. The song Requiem by Nao Hiiragi occurs during episodes 8 and 12. FIG.
