Dynamo Frankfurt was a police sports association in the Brandenburg city of Frankfurt (Oder) . After several name changes, it appeared from 1966 as the Dynamo Frankfurt soccer sports club. In 1971 it merged into SG Dynamo Fürstenwalde .

history

Among the promoters in the fourth-class district class Brandenburg Staffel Nordost was the sports community of the German People's Police Frankfurt / Oder (short SG of the DVP Frankfurt) in 1950. Although the People's Police were bottom of the table at the end of the 1950/51 season, they kept their place in the district class for the 1951/52 season, as this had been expanded from four to five seasons. This time the SG DVP was the relay winner. Since the federal states were abolished and districts were established in the GDR in 1952 , GDR football had to rebuild its league system. The season winner did not rise to the Brandenburg state class, but to the new third-class Frankfurt district league . During the 1952/53 season, the name of the sports community was changed to Dynamo Frankfurt, and they came in third. In 1957, a second place was enough for promotion to the third class II. GDR League, founded in 1955 . The SG Dynamo played there from 1958 to the 1961/62 season (return to the summer-spring rhythm of the game). In 1957 Dynamo Frankfurt was the district cup winner , but failed in the following FDGB Cup competition in 1958 in the first intermediate round . 1961/62 Dynamo came in his season on the promotion place two.

The place in the first GDR league , however, took the SC Frankfurt , founded in 1961 , which had taken over the 1st team of SG Dynamo Frankfurt on July 1, 1962. The 2nd team playing in the Frankfurt District League played from 1961/62 as the 1st team of SG Dynamo Frankfurt. This had a regular place in the district league until 1971. From 1965 the SG Dynamo played together with the relegated SC Frankfurt in the district league.

On January 8, 1966, Dynamo Frankfurt took over the football section of SC Frankfurt and from then on played under the name of the football sports community Dynamo Frankfurt (Oder) - or FSG Dynamo Frankfurt for short. In 1967 she became district champion, but failed in the promotion round to the GDR league. In 1968 Dynamo Frankfurt won the district cup for the second time, but failed again in the first round. In 1970/71 the FSG reached second place in the district league, which qualified for promotion to the GDR league. As in 1962, the team structure was intervened again, the FSG was delegated to the district division SG Dynamo Fürstenwalde / Bad Saarow, which after a further merger with TSG Fürstenwalde finally played from the 1971/72 season as SG Dynamo Fürstenwalde in the GDR league . As a start-up, SG Dynamo Ost Frankfurt started playing in the district class.
