Christoph Ringk (born March 14, 1960 in Wittenberge ) is a former German soccer player and coach.

Athletic career

Christoph Ringk began his career in 1968 in the youth division of SG Dynamo Frankfurt . With the transfer of FC Vorwärts Berlin to Frankfurt (Oder) , the young player was incorporated into FC Vorwärts Frankfurt in 1971 .

In the six-time GDR champions, Ringk was able to establish himself from 1980 in the first team, for which he played 29 games in the GDR league . In 1981, however, he was surprisingly delegated to BSG Semiconductor Factory Frankfurt in the second-class GDR league . The reason for the suspension from the army sports club were Ringk's contacts with his western relatives, as early as 1974 the club had acted similarly rigidly against the forward player Peter Zierau . In 1982 Ringk moved within the GDR league to BSG Stahl Brandenburg , which he led in the GDR Oberliga in 1984. At Stahl Brandenburg Ringk rose to captain and leading player. The highlight with the clear outsider Stahl Brandenburg was reaching the UEFA Cup in the 1986/87 season, in which Ringk reached the second round via Coleraine FC against the later UEFA Cup winner IFK Göteborg .

In 1991 Ringk qualified with Stahl Brandenburg before the established East German clubs of 1. FC Magdeburg and FC Berlin for the 2. Bundesliga , in which he only had two appearances. Knee problems despite several operations forced him to quit in 1992.

The trained physiotherapist switched to the coaching chair and after a short time was responsible for the state division SV Kloster Lehnin in his club from 1996 to 2004, and later he coached the association league club Brandenburger SC Süd.

Verlag Die Werkstatt, 2009, ISBN 978-3-89533-647-8 , pp. 188 ff .: Leske describes in his book the case of Peter Zierau, who died in the summer of 1974 because of "undesirable contacts" with West Berliners from FC Vorwärts and the NVA was released. From now on, blocked for all football clubs and BSG upper league teams, Zierau temporarily continued his career with the neighboring second division club BSG Stahl Eisenhüttenstadt .
