The e + h Services AG , headquartered in Däniken is a Swiss wholesale company for branded products in the fields of household , gifts and garden furniture and tools , hardware and garden equipment . As a general agency or sales partner in Switzerland, the company supplies specialist retailers and department stores with national and international brands.
E + h Services AG employs around 160 people and in 2005 generated sales of 170 million Swiss francs.
history
The company was founded in 1983. However, its roots go back to 1931 when the EDE purchasing cooperative was founded in Zurich as a self-help organization for the Swiss hardware trade . In 1957 it moved into the new warehouse and office building in Däniken. In the mid-1960s, an extension building with an exhibition room was also opened there, one of the first pick-up wholesale markets and the first stock exchange for hardware in Switzerland as well as a training center for hardware dealers opened.
In 1982, the EDE purchasing cooperative and Hasler-Handels AG in Winterthur entered into a cooperation, which in 1983 led to the establishment of E + H Purchasing and Storage AG with headquarters in Däniken and a branch in Winterthur.
1990, joined E + H Shopping and warehouse AG of Intersport Holding on, however, was only two years later to the German Nürnberger Bund Grosseinkauf eG sold. This in turn ran into financial difficulties shortly afterwards, which in 1997 led to the separation of E + Hkauf und Lager AG through a management buy-out , combined with a subsequent restructuring.
In 1999 the company was renamed e + h Services AG and activities were expanded to include purchasing , logistics , marketing and sales for various industries. In the mid-2000s, e + h Services expanded its strategic partnerships with various brand providers as a general agency for Switzerland.
