E. Jean Carroll

Elizabeth Jean Carroll (better known as " E. Jean ", born December 12, 1943 in the United States of America ) is an American journalist and author .

Under the title Ask E. Jean , E. Jean has published columns in Elle since 1993 and the associated website AskEJean.com. From 1994 to 1996 she hosted a television program of the same name on NBC .

What Do We Need Men For ?: A Modest Proposal

In 2019 Carroll published the book "What Do We Need Men For ?: A Modest Proposal". The title refers to the 1729 satire " A Modest Proposal " by Jonathan Swift . In her book, Carroll describes in detail several cases of attacks by some very well-known men, including Donald Trump and Les Moonves . One chapter of the book was pre-published by New York magazine on June 21, 2019 and has been widely discussed in other publications since then. On November 4, 2019, Carroll filed a defamation suit against Trump after he accused her of lying, among other things.
