EA Montreal is a Canadian developer of computer and video games and a subsidiary of Electronic Arts (EA). Its headquarters are in Montréal , Québec , Canada .
history
The development studio was founded on March 17th, 2004 by Alain Tascan. In 2007 EA's development studios were divided into four brands . EA Montreal became part of EA Games. In 2009, a branch of EA's BioWare development studio was established within EA Montreal facilities under the direction of BioWare's main Edmonton studio. BioWare Montreal was responsible, among other things, for the multiplayer mode of Mass Effect 3 and finally took over the further development of the series from the main studio Edmonton. The developer studio Visceral Games ( Dead Space ) also operates a branch on the EA Montreal campus. The parent company also operated a branch of EA Mobile here. In 2013 EA Montreal was affected by a large wave of layoffs within the EA Group.
