Efacec Power Solutions (EFACEC) is the largest electrical company in Portugal and is based in Matosinhos . Efacec is a leading manufacturer of systems for substations , electromobility and automation technology. The company also builds and maintains transformers , generators , motors and turbines. Efacec is positioned internationally with 76% foreign sales. The current CEO of EFACEC is Mário Filipe Moreira Leite da Silva.
history
The company was founded in 1905 and taken over by Alfredo da Silva in 1948.
At the end of the 1960s, EFACEC was one of the first companies to be listed on the Portuguese stock exchange.
In 2010 EFACEC opened a transformer factory with 250 employees in Rincon (Georgia) , but in 2014 it was sold again. The Efacec Handling Solutions division was sold to Körber AG in 2015 .
On October 23, 2015, Angolan Isabel dos Santos and her investment company Winterfell took over 65% of the company's shares. The company became financially more stable again with the entry of dos Santos. In addition, a new organizational structure was decided and implemented as a result.
