EMU Australia is a shoe label founded in 1994 that mainly sells winter boots . The southern European head office is in Hamburg , the northern European one is in London .

history

1948 Gordon Jackson founded a company that Geelong - tannery . He sold sheepskins to surfers who had shoes made from them. This gave Jackson the idea of contracting shoemakers in 1975 . The resulting shoes were sold under the UGG brand . After the sale of UGG Australia to Deckers AG in 1993, the actual shoe label EMU Australia was created.

Manufacture and distribution

The shoes are still made in Australia . Only local wool is used for this. In 2000 the company expanded to China and sold the 1 millionth pair. EMU Australia now sells shoes worldwide. The company is still privately owned and controls every step in the manufacture of a shoe, from sketching to the finished model.

Products

Only local merino wool and sheepskin from our own tannery in Geelong are used for the production of the shoes . According to the manufacturer, an EMU shoe should be water-repellent and keep the temperature. In addition to boots, the EMU Australia product range also includes slippers, toe grippers and hats.
