Dennis Michael Locorriere (born June 13, 1949 in Union City , New Jersey ) is an American singer and guitarist .

Life

Locorriere founded in 1968 with Ray Sawyer , the band Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show . Dr. Hook was referring to the character of Captain Hook from Peter Pan , who, like Sawyer, wore an eye patch. While some of the band's most successful tracks were written by Shel Silverstein , Locorriere also contributed a few tracks.

After the band split up in 1985, Locorriere initially worked as a studio musician and worked with Randy Travis , John Hiatt and Kenny Rogers , among others . He also served in 2008 as a member of Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings on tour in the UK . Locorrieres compositions have been interpreted by Olivia Newton-John , Jerry Lee Lewis and Willie Nelson , among others .

Since 2000 he has released three solo albums. In addition, a live DVD was released in 2002, a live album in 2004 and an album compilation in 2008.
