The ERF South Tyrol ( "ERF" stands for "Gospel Broadcasting") is produced with Christian content and in a private broadcasters, the German language broadcasts of South and North Tyrol and the Ticino radiates. The broadcast studio is located in Merano . The station is managed by Werner Burkhardt.

history

The work was started in 1976 by a small mission team in collaboration with a Swiss missionary organization and a Bible school and led to the establishment of the station under the name Familienradio in 1980, when the first Christian programs were broadcast from a small apartment in the area around Merano. There was apparently no collaboration with the Evangeliums-Rundfunk at that time. This made the radio station the first Christian station in Italy and one of the first private radio stations in South Tyrol. The station's information leaflet was called Südtirol Team . In 1990 the name was changed to ERF Südtirol and the work was professionalized.

Program and distribution

Since the year 2000, the programs of the ERF Südtirol can also be heard in the area around Lake Maggiore in Ticino, in addition to the original broadcast area of South Tyrol . A live stream is offered on the Internet.

The ERF Südtirol offers a 24-hour VHF program for the area of the southern German language border, which includes music (especially oldies and Christian songs) twelve to 16 spoken programs daily. On Sunday the focus is on classical music, interspersed with food for thought, texts and information. The spoken contributions mainly concern biblical and Christian topics.

ERF Südtirol is a member of ERF International and cooperates in this way with ERF Medien (Germany) , ERF Medien (Switzerland) and ERF Medien Austria .
