ERF 1 (former spelling ERF eins or ERF.TV ) is the television channel ( ERF Fernsehen ) from ERF Medien (known under the former name Evangeliums-Rundfunk ) based in Wetzlar . In March 2009, the station was expanded to a 24-hour program (received digitally via ASTRA and on the Internet as a live stream as well as via various cable providers). The station is financed exclusively by donations . The aim is to offer Christians an in-depth offer on Christian topics and to offer a low-threshold offer for people who have so far been far removed from the Christian faith.

The ERF's television work began in the late 1970s. It was then that the ERF began buying, dubbing, and lending the rights to internationally successful Christian children's films. Broadcasting opportunities only arose with the opening of the television market in Germany for private providers, when television programs were broadcast for the first time with the start of the cable pilot project in Rhineland-Palatinate . With the start of new private television channels, more Christian programs were produced and delivered by Gospel Broadcasting. With the launch of Bibel TV in 2002, the TV range of the ERF was expanded.

As a co-partner, the ERF played a substantial part of the Bible TV program. Since January 2006, they have been summarized in the two-hour program window UnsERFeierabend . Part of this broadcast were the television formats Hof mit Himmel and thank God! which were also broadcast on the feature film station Das Vierte and on several regional cable networks. In July 2008, the program was licensed independently by ERF Medien and started on March 1, 2009 with the 24-hour television program ERF eins (later ERF 1 ), which was broadcast digitally via ASTRA. Since April 1, 2009, the station has been fed into the KabelDeutschland network on slot number 210. There he replaced the former gaming broadcaster GIGADigital TV , which ceased broadcasting on March 31, 2009. Since mid-May 2007, ERF television has also been broadcast as a live stream over the Internet (www.erf.de).

The station was discontinued as an independent program on July 1, 2014, because the hoped-for range had not been achieved. Since then the program has been continued as ERF Web-TV and parts of the program are broadcast through a cooperation with Bibel TV and some other private broadcasters.

Program content

ERF 1 offers a wide range of different series of programs that has grown even more since ERF eins started broadcasting. The talk show Hof mit Himmel, the long-running series of programs, offers help with various problems in life (addiction, raising children, marital problems, illnesses, etc.). After the program has been broadcast, viewers have the option of contacting the To contact ERF and to order a free information package for the broadcast or to use pastoral care.

The magazine program Thank God offers a wide range of different topics related to Christianity. ERF Fernsehen also has programs in its program that were previously broadcast on ERF Radio, such as Calando magazine and the series Wort zum Tag. Several new program ideas have been implemented for the 24-hour program via ASTRA digital. Among other things, church services and major events such as ProChrist are broadcast. Whether the currently planned broadcasting of individual programs via third-party channels will be maintained in the long term depends on the future earnings position of the ERF. All ERF television broadcasts, like the radio programs, are financed from donations.
