The ESWE supply AG is a German energy company with headquarters in Wiesbaden . The company supplies the Hessian state capital with electricity, natural gas and district heating. Electricity and natural gas are also offered nationwide.

The abbreviation ESWE goes back to the municipal utilities that were dissolved in 2000. The letters S and W for Stadtwerke Wiesbaden have been spelled out in phonetic spelling since an advertising campaign to modernize the company in 1970, i.e. Es and We , and in capital letters.

history

The Wiesbaden city parliament decided on April 30, 1930 to convert the city's "water and light works" into a stock corporation . The aim was to have greater chances on the loan market and to achieve more flexibility and independence.

In 1942, when the municipal transport company was included, a municipal “cross-network” was formed.

Since 2000, Thüga AG Munich has participated as a partner with 49.38% of the share capital of ESWE Versorgungs AG. WVV Wiesbaden Holding GmbH, which in turn is 100% owned by the city of Wiesbaden, holds 50.62%. The ESWE transport company was spun off and converted into a GmbH .

The administration has been located in Weidenbornstrasse in Wiesbaden since 2001.

In 2005 ESWE Supply handed over the Schierstein waterworks to Hessenwasser .
